Top 1 percent in an area that is crucial for the future!
Incredibly happy and extremely proud! That’s the best way we can describe how it feels to have earned our place at the top in the green league. EcoVadis has recognized TDC NET with a platinum award for being among the top 1 percent of the most sustainable companies in the world — and sustainability is something that means a great deal to us.
Over 120,000 companies from over 160 countries have been assessed by EcoVadis in four key areas: climate and environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable sourcing. When EcoVadis places us in the top 1 percent, it makes us truly happy, because all the hard work and dedication suddenly feels like it’s all worth it.
Sustainability across the organization
In some companies, sustainability might only be handled by a single department. At TDC NET, our ambitions are greener than the grass, and that’s why it’s a team effort that spans across the entire organization. Our sustainability director, Peter S. Andersen, included over 150 colleagues in his thank-you speech when revealing that we have earned the platinum award.
"But what exactly are you doing for the transition to a sustainable future?" you might wonder.
If we were to mention all our efforts, it would take all day - however, here are a few:
- Electricity from Danish renewable energy sources
- Energy-saving initiatives
- Electrification of our entire fleet
- ‘Greener’ procurement
- Recycling of materials
- Ethical data handling
- Space for nature on our premises
- Fire evacuation drills
- Use of surplus energy
- Work environment reviews
- And much more...
"So, now, are you just going to rest on your laurels?" you might ask.
Nope, we’ve only just begun, and there’s still plenty to do. Our goal of being net-zero CO2 by 2030 — approved by the Science Based Targets initiative as the first in the world — is within reach. By 2028, we aim to have electrified our entire fleet. At the same time, our commitment to the Montreal Protocol’s target of 30 percent nature protection by 2030 is one of our latest green ambitions.
