TDC NET annual report 2024: Satisfactory operating result and significant CO2 reductions

AR24

TDC NET delivered financial results in line with expectations in 2024. The company invested record amounts in digital infrastructure and maintained its position as the market leader in mobile networks, while significantly increasing the number of addresses with access to fiber connectivity. With additional CO2 reductions, TDC NET continued its ambitious climate course towards net-zero by 2030.

With this year's financial results, TDC NET demonstrates that the company maintains a sound financial course despite the challenging market and tense geopolitical situation of the times.

“These are tough times to operate and expand digital infrastructure. Cyber threats, increasing data volumes, and the green transition are driving costs up, while the market situation remains challenging. Nevertheless, we delivered a solid 2024 report, managing to maintain an operating result at the same level as 2023 while investing substantial amounts in the expansion of safe, stable, and energy-efficient digital infrastructure for the benefit of Danes,” explains TDC NET's CFO, Steen Møller.

Strong results
Looking back on the past year, Steen Møller identifies several milestones worth highlighting.

“In 2024, we stayed focused and delivered important results: We provided an additional 76,000 addresses with access to our lightning-fast fiber network, while our 5G mobile network was again rated as Denmark's best by the Danish Technological Institute. Internally, we initiated our new strategy - 'Connectivity Pioneers' - which aims to simplify and automate many of our core processes for the benefit of customers. Finally, we saw that the markets continue to have great confidence in us with yet another oversubscribed bond issuance with binding climate targets.”

World leader in green transition
TDC NET was the first company globally to have its climate targets scientifically validated, and the company's journey towards net-zero by 2030 continued resolutely throughout the past year.

Regarding total CO2 reductions, which include both the company's operations and its entire value chain, TDC NET achieved a remarkable 49 percent reduction in 2024 compared to the base year 2020. Moreover, the company's four solar parks ensured that 65 percent of its total energy consumption was covered by renewable energy. Finally, TDC NET launched a new ambitious plan for biodiversity and nature conservation over 30 percent of its total land area.

In 2024, we proved that we continue to be among the most climate-ambitious companies globally, a fact recognized by EcoVadis, which once again placed TDC NET in the absolute top tier of companies: among the top one percent in the world for sustainability, even awarding us 'platinum' status. This is the result of a tremendous team effort across our organization,” emphasizes Steen Møller.

Expectations for 2025
TDC NET's CFO expects the company to maintain the development seen in 2024 throughout 2025.

"EBITDA for 2025 is expected to be at the same level as 2024, driven by growth in mobile and broadband as well as a continued focus on efficiency, counterbalanced by declining earnings from older products. We will continue to invest in both mobile networks, fiber rollout, and IT transformation. At the same time, we will proceed with the decommissioning of our copper network and maintain our focus on becoming net CO2-neutral by 2030."
