Our digital infrastructure needs power, and as data volumes grow, energy consumption also rises. We observe the additionality principle when purchasing renewable energy. We have also signed green power purchase agreements instead of buying renewable energy certificates.

Climate and nature
It is not enough for us to just be a leading provider of digital infrastructure. We also want to be at the forefront in promoting green initiatives and combating negative climate change.

Climate and nature
Over the past few years we have launched projects to help us reach our long-term goal of net-zero emissions by 2030. In the coming years we expect to see the results of our investment in renewable energy, as part of the power purchase agreement we already have in place.
What have we achieved?
- Launched projects to reach our net-zero target by 2030.
- A power purchase agreement for green power delivering 140 GWh of renewable electricity.
- Reduced emissions from our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 61% compared with 2020.
- Reduced emissions from our value chain (Scope 3) by 41% compared with 2020.
- Established a recognised supplier programme to manage emissions throughout the value chain.
- Automated the compilation of Scope 1 and 2 related data.
- Launched our first nature preservation project and thereby realised 9.6% of our biodiversity target to preserve 30% of our land by 2030.
What comes next?
- We are going to realise several large energy-saving project in our network and car fleet to help us reach our net-zero target by 2030.
- We will initiate additional nature restoration projects on our sites in or near biodiversity sensitive areas to realise our ‘30by30’ target.
