Environment

Over the past few years we have launched projects to help us reach our long-term goal of net-zero emissions by 2030. In the coming years we expect to see the results of our investment in renewable energy, as part of the power purchase agreement we already have in place.

What have we achieved?

  • Launched projects to reach our net-zero target by 2030.
  • Power purchase agreements for green power delivering 160 GWh of renewable electricity.
  • Reduced emissions from our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 64% compared with 2020.
  • Reduced emissions from our value chain (Scope 3) by 48% compared with 2020.
  • Established a recognised supplier programme to manage emissions throughout the value chain.
  • Automated the compilation of Scope 1 and 2 related data.
  • Launched nature preservation projects and thereby realised 12.6% of our biodiversity target to preserve 30% of our land by 2030.
  • Set target to become a zero waste company by 2030, meaning that all our waste needs to be either recycled or reused.

What comes next?

  • We are going to realise several large energy-saving project in our network and car fleet to help us reach our net-zero target by 2030.
  • We aim to increase our share of renewable energy.
  • We intend to work with our suppliers to get them to set emissions reductions targets.
  • We plan to initiate additional nature restoration projects on our sites in or near biodiversity sensitive areas to realise our ‘30by30’ target.
  • We are focusing on reusing and recycling materials, for example when we switch off legacy equipment.

Energy savings are the best option

We are continuing to streamline our energy consumption, and have already seen positive results after pha-sing out old technology. Our nationwide 5G coverage has also reduced electricity consumption in our mobile phone network, as expected.

Electrifying special vans

We have a goal to electrify our entire car fleet, including special vans, by the end of 2028. We are taking the lead in finding a solution for the market and partner with vehicle conversion specialists with expertise in converting regular vans into special vans. In 2025, we had 17 100% electric vans on the road, equipped for on-site technician work.

Ambitious climate target

We are proud to be the first company in the world with science-based targets aligned with the latest climate science. In 2022, The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated our targets of becoming net-zero in our own operations by 2028 and in our entire value chain by 2030.

We commit to UN biodiversity targets

The state of nature causes growing concern, especially in Denmark. We must take action to increase biodiversity. We are proud to commit to the UN target set at COP15 in Montreal whereby we aim to preserve 30% of our land by 2030. We hope that we can inspire others to join us.

Zero Waste
Zero waste in 2030

We launched an ambitious 2030 circularity strategy, where we aim to either reuse or recycle all resource outflows by 2030. In 2025, our recycling rate amounted to 82%.
